Pastor Daren Ward

Daren J. Ward Sr. is a native of Cincinnati, OH and was raised in the Avondale community. He is a graduate of Western Hills High School and went to Cincinnati State initially to study electronics but then changed his major to Business Management. After transfering to Southern Ohio College for business, and then going into travel and tourism, Daren saw himself traveling the world.

Pastor Ward knew at a young age that he had a calling on his life but did not understand spiritual things nor how to seek and find his purpose in life. Daren was brought up in the church since he was a child. After leaving the church at age 18, he returned at age 21 to seek the Lord. He was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Daren Ward Sr. was ordained a deacon at Mt. Calvary Early Church Of God In Christ where he continued to serve in this position for 20 years. As a deacon, he learned church order and how the church should be governed. For more than 15 years he served in the Outreach Ministry in the area of Jail/Prison and Juvenile ministries.  At the Early Chuches Holy Convocation in August of 2005, Daren was ordained as an Elder. In August of 2006, he was sent by the bishop of the Early Churches Of God In Christ, Bishop R.L. Bryant, to pastor Mt. Calvary. Now into his 4th year of pastorialship, Pastor Daren Ward Sr. is preaching, teaching, instructing, and making full proof of his ministry by doing the work of an Evangelist, as "2 Timothy 4:5 " commands him to.
